HOMEOWNERSHIP PROGRAM ORIENTATION MAEETINGS AND APPLICATION PROCESS
HOW TO RECEIVE AN APPLICATION (READ CAREFULLY)
Aiken County Habitat for Humanity is a nonprofit organization that partners with individual and families that have lived or worked within the Aiken County service area for a minimum of one year, to build strength, stability, and self-reliance through shelter. Aiken Habitat provides a hand-up, not a hand-out; this is done through sweat equity and other requirements. The Homeownership Program is not a quick process and requires a lot of commitment to complete the program.
Attending an Application Orientation Meeting is the first step; attendance is mandatory in order to apply. General information on the Homeownership Program and how the application process works, including financial criteria will be explained at that time. We are offering Application Orientation Meetings as listed below; You are required to attend ONE meeting in order to receive an application package.
All meetings will be held in the Hydrangea Room at the Aiken Senior Life Services building located at 1310 East Pine Log Road, Aiken, SC 29803

You do not need to bring anything with you to the meeting, however, if you intend on having a co-applicant, both the applicant and co-applicant living in the home must attend at least one meeting.
The meeting typically takes about 45 minutes, and at the end you will receive the application package, including directions on how to complete it and where to return it. Application Meetings are open to the general public; therefore, you may share this information with friends and family; you are not required to have received an invite in order to attend. NO FOOD OR DRINKS ALLOWED!
THE DOORS WILL CLOSE PROMPTLY AT MEETING TIME AND NO ONE WILL BE ALLOWED IN ONCE DOORS ARE CLOSED. WE SUGGEST ARRIVING AT LEAST 15 MINUTES EARLY.
We recommend you do not bring children so you are able to concentrate on the information given and others will not be disturbed.
If you have questions, you must contact me at least 48 hours prior to the meeting so that I have time to respond.
We look forward to seeing you.
