A message from the Executive Director
. We are now approaching Easter and this is a time to reflect on how blessed we are at Habitat and in our community. Easter brings to mankind God’s gift of salvation through Jesus Christ’s death and the promise of being with Him eternally through His resurrection.
For Habitat we are truly blessed to be able to continue our construction program of building 5 houses a year despite the doldrums of the economy. Certainly, this includes the generous giving of funds, personal sacrifices and volunteering of time from the Aiken Community. Together with our Lord we have been able to continue providing homeownership opportunities to those very low and low-income families in need.
For 2012, in addition to our construction program, we are planning some unique activities. These include the Women Build starting in March, celebrate World Habitat Day in October, a Worship Build starting in October/November and a volunteer recognition event which is currently being planned.
We offer a wide range of volunteer activities for those who want to get involved with our mission. The ReStore is sprucing up and is receiving a wide range of donations which should interest the public. You can also make a donation through our website or by mail.
In conclusion, we want to thank all of you who have participated in our activities and we look forward to what we can do together for the remainder of the year. God bless you,
Executive Director
